The life-long interest in aircraft of our founder, Paul Bachteal, became a true passion after earning a wide-range of aircraft ratings and endorsements. Over the years, he became frustrated by the experience of researching and seeking to purchase aircraft: listings were often outdated, sellers were not transparent about what was in their logbooks, and all the airplanes seemed generic. Determined to find the perfect aircraft for his needs, he embarked on a journey into the arcane world of boutique aircraft manufacturers, spending hundreds of hours researching custom and specialty airplanes until he found the one that would fulfill his aviation missions. He realized that by institutionalizing and systemizing the knowledge he had gained, he could help other pilots find their perfect aircraft without having to go through such a painstaking process.
